We see the majority of losses due to disability at work are caused by depression, stress, relaxation issues and behavioural problems. In 2015, The World Health Organization began listing depression as the leading cause of disability worldwide surpassing cancer, heart disease and traffic accidents.

Considering these on-going business continuity challenges, we see the need for organizations to develop and sustain their emotive skills in support of effective workplaces. As a result, organizations of all types and sizes world-wide are implementing and adopting mindfulness training to support their talent development and mental health initiatives.

 

Bodies of research are concluding that mindfulness training promotes sustainable mental health, cognitive functioning and happiness. For leadership teams and their broader organizations at large, the benefits of mindfulness training include the ability to bounce back from challenge and adversity (resilience), have greater perspective on problems and see more clearly the consequences of actions, have stronger relationships, engage influence, and decision-making.
